Eyelid hygiene (eyegiene) is similar to dental hygiene.

You brush your teeth daily because a biofilm of plaque builds up on your teeth,  similarly this can occur with your eyelids!

This biofilm is a mix of bacteria, oils and demodex mites and this biofilm can naturally occur. However with eyelash extensions, this becomes especially important!

Patients are generally more inclined to avoid cleansing their eyelashes to protect their extensions from falling out but this can lead to blepharitis, styes, meibomian gland dysfunction, dry eye and other eye diseases.

Did you know? Your eyelash retention is actually LONGER and BETTER with lash cleansing?

A clean lash line means a healthy lash line which promotes longevity of your natural lash.  This results in a prolonged natural health cycle meaning your eyelash extensions will last longer and have better retention!

Why are ingredients in your lash cleanser important?

Cleaning your eyelashes is only the first step! Did you know your eyelash cleanser should contain ingredients that are safe and healthy for the eyelashes and the eyeball itself?  Not every brand that is created is created with eye safety in mind and you may find some eyelash cleansers may sting more than others.  This is due to the ingredients which include fragrances, preservatives and buffers that can irritate your ocular surface.
